QUEEN ELIZABETH II THE GREAT ENGRAVERS 2021 2OZ G. This is a scarce coin as it is only 1 of 4000 issued by Royal Mint. However, as it has been graded by NGC PF 70 ULTRA CAMEO it is even rarer as it is 1 of only 307 at that grade (see screen shoot). The coin is in a secure plastic holder.

Inspired in part by the Scottish artist William Dyce RA, the obverse and reverse designs are works of genius, produced by the engraver William Wyon at the very peak of his creative career. Coveted by Victorian numismatists and mostly collected straight from the Bank of England, only 8,000 silver along with a handful of gold coins were struck. Drawing on our unrivalled legacy, The Great Engravers continues with the first of two coins paying homage to the Gothic Crown. Based on the reverse of the original coin - an ornate quartered shield design that has a long tradition in British numismatics - it is a fitting tribute to one of the most talented engravers to work on British coinage.

The coin is finished to Proof standard. Royal Mint Packaging, booklet, wooden presentation box and Certificate bearing number: 2591 are also included in the sale. Striking Standard Gold and Silver Proof coins are the highest quality commemorative coins.

Blanks are fed into the coin press by hand before being struck up to six times, at a lower speed and with less pressure than other finishes, to preserve the finer details of the design.
